Announcement.

Hello all!  First off, can you believe the holidays are here already??  Where did the time go?  I don’t know about you, but I feel like the past few months have been a complete blur, and I am looking forward to some time off over Christmas to catch my breath, enjoy time with my family and friends, and bask in the ending of another year.

I wanted to let my dear, faithful clients know that I am not doing Holiday sessions at this time…

As of now, I will be taking a sabbatical from photography, indefinitely.  I’ve wrestled with this decision, but found it a necessary one to make.  I do enjoy photography, and am so blessed and grateful for my lovely clients.  However, I am finding it difficult to find a balance with photography, painting and my full time teaching job.  I just do not feel like there are enough hours in the day to book sessions, edit photos, and deliver them in a timely manner, especially during the Holiday crunch, when I am at work full time.

From the bottom of my heart, I thank each one of you who has believed in me and encouraged me to pursue photography, and I thank you for your understanding regarding it being put on hold for now.

I will post as soon as I am able for upcoming photography news.  In the meantime, I appreciate you, and want to wish you a Happy Thanksgiving and a very Merry Christmas!

Miracle.

Meet the ‘S’ family!  I’ve known them for 3 years, since the boys (W & J) were 3, and little A was a baby.

These photos are very special.

Two days after they were taken, little A was admitted to the hospital for surgery.  A tumor had been found in her abdomen, and the doctors were certain it was cancer.

Her mom asked me if I would be willing to take some photographs, as documentation of the frightening journey they were embarking on.  I was honored to do that for them.

Even in the midst of agony and terror, Mr. and Mrs. S held firm to their faith that God would cover A in His mercy and care.

People surrounded them in a storm of prayer, asking for healing, for a miracle.

The doctors were certain…

The surgery was done…

There were tears.  Prayers.  Waiting.  Wondering.

The words that suddenly became familiar in daily conversations:  radiation, chemo, aggressive, illness.

A 3 year old princess.  A dragon called cancer.

And then, the news…

A rare tumor.

But benign.

No cancer.

A miracle.

The doctors were certain that it wouldn’t be benign.

But, God was certain that it would be.

And Little A, the princess who captured our hearts, is home, recuperating in her castle.  The dragon slayed…a testimony to the living God, who heals.

A miracle.

Blessed.

Oh, this family!  How I love them!

These kiddos are super smart, and each of them have a great sense of humor.

I have taught 3 of them in preschool, and it has been fun to get to know each of them, and watch them grow.

I had a great time with them, and feel blessed that they chose me to capture a few moments in their lives with my camera!

Enjoy your sneak peek M family!

P.S….the last image…don’t you just love that he photo bombed them?  Hehe! pm004 pm008 pm009bw pm013bw pm021 pm027 pm030 pm032 pm034bw pm040bw pm044 pm052 pm053 pm057bw

Five.

The N family and I did the math, and I have been photographing this wonderful family of five, for five years.  Five.  The littlest guy had just turned 2!  Now, he is well into his kindergarten year.

How time flies in the blink of an eye.

I snapped a picture of the mantle just for fun, since it features the photos we took last Fall, and I ended up loving the way it looked.

The photo of the Mr. and Mrs. smooching was posed that way on purpose, playing into the exasperated attitude of a preteen and his affectionate parents (hence, J’s super serious, annoyed expression).

My favorite picture came after that, though…the one where J is being kissed by his parents…that was one shot, as he had no idea it was coming, as you can see in his face.  Naturally, he moved out of the way as soon as it happened, but not before my camera captured it!

Enjoy!!

On A Sunday Afternoon.

I had the wonderful opportunity to work with this sweet, fun family.  We went to a local park, on a beautiful Sunday afternoon.

The kids were so fun, and had me laughing, as they were enjoying being ‘models’ and striking poses.

It was an honor to photograph them, and get to know them!

Enjoy your sneak peek!!

Lovely.

I had the privilege of meeting and photographing the lovely ‘K’ family over the weekend.

They were so sweet and I had a wonderful time working with them.

Also, after a night of rainfall, the weather was perfect (albeit cold)!

Thank you ‘K’ family!  Enjoy your sneak peek!

Joy.

This family…this loving, happy family…they exude pure joy.

This is what photography is about to me…capturing life, laughter, silliness, and joy.

Dragging a loveseat into a field, and letting the moments unfold as they will.

I simply want to capture the true essence of a family.

I’ve had the honor of knowing the ‘J’ family for just over a year now, and I adore them.

They are warm, friendly, and welcoming.

I loved having the brief opportunity to photograph them, including Grandma and Grandpa, who were visiting, and snapping a few images of their newest little guy.

The kids were troopers, braving the cold weather, looking after their little baby, giving each other kisses, and simply having fun together.

Thank you so very much, ‘J’ family!  Enjoy your sneak peek!

Forest.

I had a great time with the sweet ‘G’ family.  We took a little trip to the Elfin Forest, and enjoyed the scenery around us.

The kiddos were troopers, as we walked to and fro, looking for the best spots for taking photos.  Little C even suffered a bee sting, but was smiling for the camera within a few minutes!

It was a lovely afternoon, with a great family!

Thank you ‘G’ family!  Enjoy your sneak peek!

New Logo!

Hello, readers!

I just wanted to share a couple of things!

First, my new logo!!  I love it!

Second, my website has finally been updated!  Woot, woot!  Check it out here:  www.angelarichardsonphotography.com

Also, I would appreciate ‘likers’ on my new Facebook page!  Take a look here!

Lastly, I’m sure you may notice a few changes regarding prices and package options on the website!  I really had to take a step back, evaluate, re-evaluate, and evaluate once again, what would help me stay competitive, and still reasonably priced.  I am very pleased with the changes I have made, and sought counsel from fellow photographers and clients as well.

I’m looking forward to a great year!  Thanks for being faithful readers/fans as this business begins to grow!

You are appreciated!!

Merry Christmas!

Another lovely Christmas season is upon us.  As 2011 comes to a close, and 2012 enters in, I hope you take time to reflect, to cherish, and to enjoy what has passed, and what will come.

The website is currently closed for renovations, but will open again in January, complete with a new logo and updated information.  I’m thrilled to unveil the logo that is being created!

I wish you and yours a very Merry Christmas, and a Happy New Year!
